Dr. Harden founded and directs the Physical Activity Research and Community Implementation (PARCI) Laboratory within the department of Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise at Virginia Tech. As a registered yoga instructor and academic, she uses science and the personal experience of clients, patients, and participants to promote physical activity. Her passion and emphasis on physical activity behaviors is underscored by its ability to improve psychological and physiological outcomes. Over the last decade she has published 118 peer reviewed journal articles and has an international reputation as a leader of the application of the RE-AIM framework to ensure evidence-based interventions are translated to real-world settings. Her work has garnered over $29 million in grant funding, primarily through the United States Department of Agriculture.
